Formerly a hunting reserve for the Rana Primeministers and Royalty everywhere, the Chitwan National Park is the first national park of Nepal covering a pristine area of 932 sq. km and is situated in the subtropical inner Terai lowlands of southern Nepal.
The park has gained much wider recognition in the world when UNESCO included this area on the list of World Heritage Site in 1984.The park is famous for being one of the last bastion of the One Horned Rhino and also houses more than 700 different species of Wildlife.
