Abu Dhabi rivals Dubai as the commercial powerhouse in the UAE, but the ambience is more reserved, in virtually everything. High rises are certainly prevalent, however the area is well planned and proudly Arabic and traditional.  A holiday to Abu Dhabi offers everything from excellent shopping to desert drives for the more adventurous.

Hotel development is currently limited to just a handful of areas. The newly opened Saadiyat Island boasts a long unspoilt sandy beach and has two new excellent luxury hotels - St Regis Saadiyat Island and Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi. For a complete contrast, Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara offers a completely unique option as you can stay in a five-star resort in the Liwa Desert and try some activities such as camel treks and biking. The period from October to April is generally the most pleasant with usually bright sunny days and pleasantly cooler evenings. As with most destinations, there can be changes to the accepted pattern and three to four days of cold weather and heavy showers might be experienced in these months, but that is unusual. From May to October, regional temperatures and humidity soar, particularly in the mid-summer months.

You can combine your luxury holiday to Abu Dhabi with a holiday to the Maldives or the Seychelles with our
Multi Centre holidays.

Abu Dhabi Beaches and Retreats Abu Dhabi Beaches and Retreats

As Abu Dhabi city is built on connected islands on the coast of the UAE, to the south of Dubai, it is not surprising that it has some good beaches tucked away within easy reach of its commercial and shopping centre. Closest to the city itself, just at the end of the Corniche, is the Emirates Palace with its grandeur and opulent style but with a kilometre of sandy beach. More recently Saadiyat Island, just 15 minutes’ drive away from both the city and the airport became the key beach destination, with its five miles of pristine, sandy beach backed by dunes, complete with a turtle reserve. Escape to the Liwa Desert, located just 2 hours outside of the city or beach, for a stay in a luxurious and deluxe desert retreat.

Alternatively, combine a break in Abu Dhabi with a relaxing beach holiday to the Seychelles or Maldives- the perfect way to enjoy a city-beach holiday.

Abu Dhabi Honeymoon Abu Dhabi Honeymoon

Abu Dhabi may not seem the obvious choice for a Honeymoon but think again - year-round warm weather, long stretch of sandy coastline with dolphins playing offshore, a romantic desert retreat with the opportunity for romantic dune dinners or camel ride into the sunset, perhaps rounded off with a gourmet meal in one of the first-class fine dining restaurants in the city or your hotel.  Abu Dhabi is an exciting city with something for everyone - adrenalin rides at Ferrari World to horse riding and dune drives, modern shopping malls and ancient souks.
