Cuba holidays are made up of irresistible cocktails of colonial cities, wonderful beaches, beautiful scenery and music, stirred with a dash of rum. If you enjoy history and culture or simply lying on a fine Caribbean beach, a holiday to Cuba will not disappoint you. Cuba tours are very popular for those looking for city breaks to experience the local music, food, culture and scenic beauty. You can even combine the two on an all inclusive holiday to Cuba. Cuba holidays are a perfect way to enjoy the slower pace of life, the rhythms of the Cuban music and the vitality of the people whilst drinking rum cocktails followed by dancing the salsa - it remains a unique place to visit.

Old Havana is a crumbling gem that transports you back in time with a great selection of Cuban hotels converted from beautiful old colonial buildings. A couple of hours away, Pinar del Rio provides outstanding natural beauty for a few days relaxation.

The cities of Trinidad, Cienfuegos and Santiago offer charming colonial architecture and historical interest, and when it comes to beautiful beaches you really are spoiled for choice, either on the mainland coast or some of the outlying small Cayos or islands.

Western & Oriental Travel can also organise more specialist tours, for example architecture holidays or mountain trekking eco-safaris that take you into more rural Cuba.

The Cuba specialists at Western & Oriental have been planning independent holidays to Cuba for over 20 years.  Call us today to plan your dream Cuba holiday.

Cuba has a history that stretches back to the days when Christopher Columbus landed in 1492. The Spanish colonised the island for almost 400 years. Cuba was the world's leading producer of sugar cane which bought in slaves from Africa, evidence of sugar plantations are still visibile all over the island, but best experienced at The Valley of The Sugar Mills near Trinidad. Cuba became the 1950's playground of the USA under the dictatorship of Bastista, and with that came corruption and drugs. Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution was a revolt against the regime of Bastista and the government was reformed along communist lines. Havana boasts a range of museums that depist the lively history of the island.
