The support from the sales consultant and the paperwork provided were excellent. The tour operation in Cuba was excellent - very good guide and driver, who accommodated our requests. The tour was more full on than we expected with several quite long drives - we saw a lot but also spent a lot of time in the bus. The Sevilla had a nice ambience downstairs but rooms pretty basic, the Iberostar had very good rooms and good food and La Moka had nice rooms, gardens and location - food OK. Generally the food was better than our low expectations, only one really bad meal on the first day, otherwise quite well cooked but monotonous - but you don't go to Cuba for the food. Cocktails were generally spiffing! Overall we very much enjoyed the holiday.
We had an excellent holiday in Cuba. We were very pleased indeed with the service from Western & Oriental. All the flights and taxi transfers went very smoothly and the representative Giselle in Havana was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel we were booked in was changed on our arrival to the Central Park Hotel across the road, which was an upgrade, so it was no problem! It was a beautiful hotel, the service was friendly and the roof-top pool and the view were fantastic! Excellent location, within walking distance of all the main attractions and good restaurants and music venues.
The Breezes Jibacoa was also excellent and in a beautiful location on a quiet beach. We enjoyed the free tennis, watersports and dance lessons as well as great choice of food and fantastic shows every evening. Our stay in Vinales was also a highlight as it was a great opportunity to experience more of the Cuban life and the beautiful countryside, with visits to the St Tomas caves and a walk to tobacco and fruit farms. It was well worth organising the taxis in advance, with a Cuban company who knew the route and are used to the 'interesting' driving conditions, rather than hire a car, as it would have been extremely precarious! We had an excellent holiday in Cuba. Sally at Westen & Oriental was most helpful from start to finish and your representative in Cuba (Jose) was excellent and sorted out all our problems - mainly cancelled internal fights (!) - very efficiently.
