Limassol is Cyprus’s second largest city and undoubtedly the place to go if you are looking for nightlife. Some of the finest shops on the island can be found in its turn-of-the-century streets as well as a host of sightseeing opportunities including archaeological and folk museums, the ancient city of Amathos and even a miniature zoo!
Paphos, in the west of the island, is now the centre of a growing tourism industry and yet it retains much of its old-world charm. The villages surrounding Paphos also boast some stunning beaches including the little fishing harbour of Latchi on the North Coast which has some excellent fish restaurants.
Halfway between Limassol and Paphos and two miles off the main road, are two very attractive beaches, Evdhimou and Pissouri where the swimming is excellent.
No holiday to Cyprus would be complete without a trip to the Troodos Mountains, breath fresh air scented with the aroma of pine trees and wild herbs, drive through forests, past vineyards and into fertile valleys, which fill with fruit blossom in Spring. Stop off in one of the many picturesque villages and enjoy a true Cypriot meal in a local inn.
