Laos Reviews“Countries visited: Laos, Cambodia and Thailand Cities visited: Luang Praba...” Mrs Sally Wilkinson
Guided Private Tours in Laos
Even though it is one of the least developed of the three countries of Indochina with the main attraction the sleepy town of Luang Prabang, Laos is home to literally thousands of Buddhist monks who emerge each morning out of the mist. Luang Prabang is a world heritage site that sits beside the mighty Mekong River and framed by towering mountains. Full of easy-going charm and a laid back lifestyle, Luang Prabang features small attractive hotels and a rapidly improving selection of restaurants.
The best way to travel the river is by longboat and a visit to the famous Pak Ou cave temple is a must. It is home to hundreds of small Buddha images, some are many centuries old.
As there are several flights daily, you can visit both Luang Prabang and Bangkok. If time isn’t an issue for your holiday, you can access Laos through the Golden Triangle in Thailand and then travel overnight down the Mekong River.
For those who like a little adventure in their holiday, we are able to arrange a comprehensive itinerary of Laos for you where you can visit the country’s capital of Vientiane and explore the southern region which would include Si Phan Don and its sweeping rivers.

It was a fantastic holiday, a perfect combination of sightseeing/culture, followed by relaxation on beaches. As with our previous 2010 Indochina holiday booked with you, W&O's service was exemplary. Garry Costin Davis was ever patient and helpful in our initial booking, costing lots of different options and hotels and Anna Rushbrooke was similarly extremely helpful when we slightly amended the booking this spring. Garry negotiated some excellent wedding anniversary benefits with the hotels which we really appreciated. With the exception of the Settha Palace which was fine, but quirky (but not of a comparable standard to the other hotels) the hotels were all exceptional and very different. We would highly recommend them all. We adored Rayavadee's location, service and charm, but the Reserve Villa at the P. Bay was quite amazing and we enjoyed seeing a different part of the coastline. The 2 together worked very well.
