Malaysia's beaches offer something for everyone. Penang is a thriving tourist destination with hotels offering extensive facilities lining the beach at Batu Ferringhi, a variety of restaurants and a fun night market. The island of Langkawi is more peaceful and boasts some stunning beaches and luxury hotels. For something more traditional and unspoilt, the east coast Peninsula Malaysia beaches are the place to head or for total escapism stay on the island retreats of Pangkor Laut and Gaya Island.

Malaysia is home to a variety of indigenous wildlife. The most famous inhabitant of Malaysian Borneo is of course the Orang Utan. An up close and personal experience with these primates can be had at Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary: a jungle refuge for orphaned and captured orang utans. Sabah is also the place to encounter hawksbill and green turtles in their natural habitat on Turtle Island or Proboscis Monkeys and Pgymy Elephants along the banks of the Kinabatangan River.  On Peninsula Malaysia explore the flora and fauna of Taman Negara National Park - 434,300 hectares of protected rainforest, thought to be the oldest in the world.

A multi centre holiday is the best way to experience the diversity of Malaysia. Combine the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur with relaxation in one of the beach resorts; add on a wildlife experience in Malaysian Borneo or a three day exploration into the ancient Taman Negara rainforest. Malaysia's close proximity to Singapore also means a stopover in Singapore is easily combinable.

Malaysia's luxury hotels are ideal for honeymoon indulgence. Newly-weds can enjoy privacy on the private island resorts of Pangkor Laut and Gaya Island, on the secluded island hideaway of Bunga Raya or in the stunning Beach Villas at The Datai or Four Seasons Resort in Langkawi. For a memorable and unique honeymoon experience, a Borneo Eco Tour taking in the wildlife and scenic highlights of Borneo is recommended.

Malaysia & Borneo Activity & Adventure Malaysia & Borneo Activity & Adventure BorneoKuala Lumpur

Malaysia boasts an array of adventure experiences and activities. Borneo offers adrenaline-fuelled white water rafting for all levels of experience, with rivers gushing from the mountain ranges. If you prefer to climb the mountains then it's possible to trek to the peak of Mount Kinabalu - the second largest mountain in Asia - for spectacular birds eye rainforest views. Less strenuous walking can be enjoyed on Peninsula Malaysia amongst the rolling hills of the Cameron Highlands.  For a cultural adventure head to Sarawak where you can get up close and personal with a local Iban tribe - the former Borneo Headhunters!

A short flight, but a world away from Malaysia's capital city Kuala Lumpur, Borneo is a  land of ancient rainforest, indigenous "Headhunter" tribes and unique wildlife including of course the Orang Utan. For a taste of this fascinating island base yourself in Kota Kinabalu and take overnight tours to see the wildlife and scenery. Or ask us about longer adventures into the rainforest and the Iban villages.

Taman Negara Taman Negara

The largest National Park in Malaysia, spanning 434,300 hectares Taman Negara National Park is the most extensive protected area of pristine, lowland, evergreen rainforest in the country and is thought to be the oldest in the world. It is home to a variety of distinctive, indigenous flora and fauna that has been left to evolve naturally over the years. Don't miss the 500 metre canopy walk - suspended amongst the treetops - for awesome rainforest views.

Cameron Highlands Cameron Highlands Multi Centre

The Cameron Highlands is the largest hill station in Malaysia. Covering an area the size of Singapore, it's a popular, cooler retreat from the hustle & bustle of Kuala Lumpur (3 1/2 hours drive away). It was popular during the Colonial era and still has a very British feel. Visit the tea plantations, enjoy an invigorating hike through the countryside and strawberry farms, before indulging in afternoon tea.
