Samaya Seminyak is a delightful and charming boutique hotel with a popular location right on the beach in Seminyak. The airport is a 25 minute drive and the lively resort of Kuta is only 10 minutes away. It is one of the most in demand properties on Bali, with a very high repeat and recommended guest list.
There are just 24 villas, grouped around the manicured lawn leading down to the beach. You have a choice of one, two or three bedrooms (no 3 bedrooms in beachfront properties, these are only available in the Royal Courtyard Villas) in a design style that is subtle Balinese combined with pleasing contemporary touches. All have walled garden to ensure your privacy and a private plunge pool. The main bedrooms have integrated living space, satellite TV/DVD and en-suite bathroom. All of the villas are elegantly appointed within two hectares of tropical gardens and designed to maximise guest comforts and enhance the sense of total privacy.
Behind the main resort are a further selection of contemporary Royal Courtyard Villas with even more luxury with larger swimming pools, flat screen TV in bedroom and bathroom, Jacuzzi and double rain shower. These 22 villas are located across the road in a private courtyard with separate main pool, restaurant and fitness centre, just two minutes walk to the main hotel with buggy services available at any time – these are highly recommended and superb value.
This area of Seminyak has some of the very best restaurants in Bali, and the hotel will be happy to make suggestions for you. The beach is good; however the sea on this side of the island can have strong currents and waves and will probably be enjoyed by the more confident swimmer.
Sister property, the Samaya Ubud, enjoys a stunning riverside location with a total of 19 villas, a relaxation pool and a choice of two restaurants. Combine the Samaya Seminyak and Ubud for a perfect Balinese holiday.
Please note - The Samaya Seminyak will be renovating parts of the resort beginning mid May 2011 which will be completed over 2 phases. The first phase is expected to schedule all Royal Pavilions and some One Bedroom Pool Villas near the lobby, with the second Phase due to take in the majority of soft refurbishment works to the new Royal Pavilions, One Bedroom Pool Villas and some limited works to Breezes Restaurant (dates subject to confirmation). The remainder of the property as with the Royal Courtyard will remain as normal, including Breeze restaurant (excluding soft refurbishment dates) and the Spa which are going to operate normally during this period. The Royal Pavilions and One Bedroom Pool Villas will undergo a replacement of their roofs, bathroom and living space upgrade and increase in size of the private pools. The works will be localised, and although there is a possibility of noise throughout the resort, the hotel will endevour to minimise disturbance to guests. The works are due to be completed by September 2012. (10 April 2012).

Dining while in Bali will truly be one of the highlights of your entire trip as the experience is enjoyable both at high-end restaurants and at open top cafes. Hotels offer guest a wide variety of excellent dishes to satisfy every budget and taste. If you feel in the mood to venture out for a meal, there are many restaurants within Kuta, Legian, Candidasa, and Sanur.
The atmosphere of most restaurants tend to be relaxed, often with grass roofs, cane furniture, and contemporary music. In addition, mobile snack bars called warungs are popular for a quick bite to eat on the go in between meals.
The night markets are traditional outdoor eateries that come to life at dusk, and are famous all over Southeast Asia. Even if you cannot work up the courage to eat in the markets, you must visit one to experience the thrills, the smells, the sights, and the noises that define this part of the world.
Night markets and traditional outdoor eateries come to life at dusk with this custom being famous all over Southeast Asia. In the event that you decide not to eat in the markets, they are still worth a visit or walkthrough.
If in search of authentic Balinese food, venture outside of your hotel and the city centre restaurants as it is rarely served there.
It is best to check with the UKBA prior to travel to verify your visa requirement needs.
The electricity in Bali is 220 volts with 50 cycles per minute. You should check with your hotel to verify the type of converter or adapter you may need.
Monkey’s are very much a part of the Balinese wildlife and make up of the peoples culture too. Indeed within Balinese Hinduism, the Macaque, is the embodiment of both positive and negative forces. Ubud itself is home to a large population of monkeys as it is one of Bali’s conservational forested areas. They are present in the majority of hotels in this region but generally keep well clear of human beings. Westen & Oriental Travel do not recommend feeding the monkey’s or leaving food outside for them as this may encourage more aggressive behaviour to develop among a troop of monkeys!
Indonesia is considered to be fairly safe and has a low violent crime rate. As advised when travelling to any destination, make sure that you are always aware of your surroundings, especially when out on the town at night.

Bali is part of Indonesia and use the official currency called the Rupiah, also noted as Rp. Banknotes are available in a range of denominations, however coins are only available in two types. The positive part about Rupiah is that all notes are distinctive and easy to tell apart from each other.
