A Blue Mountains oasis, perched 3100 feet above sea level, Strawberry Hill Hotel and Spa offers an enchanting mix of Jamaican heritage balanced with healthy living, a private tropical haven situated in a magnificent mountainside setting and boasting panoramic views of Kingston below.
Strawberry Hill began as an 18th century coffee plantation, the property changed hands many times throughout the 20th century and in 1972 was acquired by Chris Blackwell, founder of the much-reputed Island Records label, which launched the legendary career of Reggae icon Bob Marley. As a result many famous entertainers and musicians visited the property during the 70's and 80's including the Rolling Stones, Marianne Faithful, Grace Jones and Willie Nelson. Strawberry Hill opened as a hotel in November of 1994.
Strawberry Hill Hotel and Spa is a unique boutique property comprising 12 handcrafted 19th century Georgian style cottages each carefully set in a private tropical haven. Each cottage is an individually handcrafted living space with detailed fretwork and furniture, which was made and finished on site. Dark mahogany furniture, four-poster beds draped with a delicate muslin netting, French doors, louvered windows and spacious private verandas create an atmosphere of relaxing intimacy.
The Strawberry Hill Living Spa is one of the highlights of the hotel, specialising in stress relief and organic healing based on the five elements practiced in Ayurverdic philosophies. The spa offers five treatment rooms including a hydrotherapy room, a plunge pool, a deck for yoga and other outdoor activities and a sauna.
A variety of dining locations suit the mood of the day, the Library Veranda and Bamboo Room, the Jade Vine Terrace or the Poolside and Bar Veranda are but a few of the special places where you can enjoy the 'New Jamaican Cuisine' served at Strawberry Hill. A full vegetarian and spa cuisine menu is also available. Sunday Brunch is an event unto itself, redefining the traditional concept of a lavish feast with a variety of cold salads and hot appetisers, a delicious selection of jerked meats, homemade desserts and the signature strawberry bliss bubbly wine.
Strawberry Hill Hotel and Spa boasts sublime mountaintop views, a refreshing island breeze and sumptuous landscaped gardens. Enjoy the view from the infinity edge swimming pool, wander through the spectacular gardens of juniper, cedar, eucalyptus and mango trees.
