I like travelling off the beaten track, discovering new places by immersing myself in new cultures and really getting a flavour of people’s lives. My best experience of this was spending four months travelling overland from Panama to Mexico City. It gave me so many opportunities to find out more about Central America and all its diverse environments – from the steamy rainforests and rugged mountains of Panama, through Costa Rica’s unspoilt tropical paradise, to Granada - the unspoilt colonial capital of Nicaragua – and the relics of ancient civilisations in Mexico. I’d love the opportunity to get to know India in a similar way – but I’d need six months to do the country justice!

That said, my favourite destination is closer to home: Italy. I just love the people and the laidback lifestyle – and enjoying the wonderful regional cuisine, relaxed and friendly welcome, the magnificent history and amazing landscapes.

I’ve worked in travel for nine years, specialising in luxury tailor-made villa and hotel holidays. I joined Western & Oriental in 2010, and now I am arranging dream holidays around the Mediterranean.
