    I absolutely love beach holidays.

Every year, I treat myself at least to one. Last year, I visited Tenerife for the first time. Stunning beaches, crystal clear blue waters and delicious fresh seafood. No doubt , I will be returning soon.

Oman is a great mix of Arabic culture, deluxe hotels, great beaches, and strange moon-like landscapes with the odd camel thrown in for good measure! This fantastic country has something for everyone including beautiful romantic luxurious hotels for honeymooners and fantastic kids clubs for families with children of all ages.

In addition to the pools and beaches, Oman is very proud of its culture and heritage and the museums, Grand Mosque and souks here are fascinating.

One of my favourites, a real feast for the senses and not to be missed, is a trip out to the desert, perhaps with a stay at a luxury desert camp included. Here you have the opportunity to do some dune bashing, quad-bike riding and camel riding or you can just sit back and enjoy the beauty of Oman's desert landscape.

Antigua is a beach lovers paradise with a beach for everyday of the year.

There are tons of water based activities to participate in. My advice is, if you can tear yourself away from the stunning beaches to head up to the historic Harbour for some local history and great food. And if you are lucky enough to be in Antigua during late April, be sure to catch sailing week, one of the five top regattas in the world and the biggest in the Caribbean!

Saint Lucia is located between the two world-famous Pitons and the perfect romantic escape for couples and Honeymooners.

A two-centre holiday is a great way to experience the best the island has to offer. Start with a stay at the beautiful Jalousie Plantation, it's plush and boutique style is so welcoming and stylish. The Luxury Villas are superb, all with their very own plunge pools! You can relax for the week and take in the beautiful surrounding or perhaps take a helicopter ride over the pitons and go exploring in the rainforest surrounding Soufriere. In your second week, stay at the gorgeous Calabash Cove near Rodney Bay. This is a lovely hotel with less than 30 suites, fine dining and a beautiful infinity edge pool perched over the sea, making full use of the hotels stunning beachside setting.

You must visit Rodney Bay to experience the local nightlife (10 mins from Calabash Cove) and many dining options, but make sure you keep Friday night free for Jump Up at Gros Islet, the islands biggest street party every Friday,

Barbados has plenty of fine dining options and for more variety head up to the booming nightlife resort of St.

Lawrence Gap or just ‘The Gap’ as its locally known.

The island, also known as the Platinum Coast, boasts a string of fine sand beaches, is great for some celeb spotting and for the sportsmen, as there are many sporting events throughout the year including horse racing and cricket. A great activity for the family would be swimming with the turtles.

Taking an All Inclusive holiday is one of the options whilst on holiday.

My personal favourite All Inclusive was at the Sunset at the Palms in Jamaica . Our room had the most comfortable bed on the planet. Plenty of good food, drinks and snacks to keep us fully replenished.

The motto of the holiday was : Chill back, relax and enjoy the sunshine. We sure did.

St Lucia was my first taste of the Caribbean and I fell in love with the island as soon as I arrived.

I spent half of my time in the south of the island and half my time in the north which both offered very different experiences. When in the south I visited coco plantations and the Sulfur springs, watched the sunset with a cocktail at Jalousie Plantation and had an amazing lunch looking over the pitons at Stonefield Estate Villa Resort and Spa .

In the North I visited some beautiful beaches lined with palm trees. Danced the night away with tourists and locals at Jump up street party, zip wired my way through a national park and enjoyed canapés and champagne at Calabash Cove. The south was relaxing and a haven for nature lovers. The north had the best beaches and would be perfect for anyone who wants to rub shoulders with the locals and enjoys and good dance.

Cuba is a spectacular country, with beautiful and very warm loving people.

Travel here not only requires a passport, money and a good rucksack; it also requires flexibility, creativity, good humour, patience and a healthy sense of adventure. Cuba remains an easy country to travel to and within and since Raúl Castro took office in February 2008, he has allowed Cubans access to cell phones and entry into tourist hotels, meaning interaction with the locals is now simpler and often surprisingly candid.

St Julian and Valetta are definitely not to be missed during your visit to Malta.

With an excellent choice of restaurants along the Marina’s edge in Valetta, you can’t go wrong. Why not hire a guide for the morning to show you around the historical town. At the Westin Dragonara you can relax at pool and private beach lidos.

What is there to love about St.

Vincent & the Grenadines? Lots, starting off with the Carnival, get into the rhythm and dance your heart away. Visit the majestic, lush green Mount Soufriere volcano and take advantage of the secluded white sand beaches.

Another exciting must do is take a sailing trip to Tobago Cays, used for the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean, either for a day or extend for an overnight trip.

There are many highlights to Sharm el Sheikh, the Red Sea for one, is incredibly marine rich and a perfect spot for both snorkelers and professional divers to explore.

While snorkelling just a few metres from the shore, I spotted some clown fish, stripy angel fish and virtually the whole cast of Finding Nemo!

For some light entertainment and shopping, head down to the bustling hub of Na'ama Bay, for a great variety of restaurants, souvenir shops and bars offering cocktails and traditional Egyptian shisha. Sharm also has one of the most impressive kids clubs, my fav by far, was the Hyatt Regency’s. The facilities include a stunning beach, canopied paddling pool, indoor play area, outside climbing frame and a play-station room.

While the kids enjoy themselves, the adults can have their own fun at the fabulous Souk area by joining the belly dancers and musicians on stage while dining from a wide selection of freshly made international cuisine.

Take up the opportunity to sample some of the best scuba diving and bird watching, some of nature’s finest wonders.

The islands’ rich diversity in culture, history and nature will keep you blissfully occupied throughout your stay.

Test your stamina at the annual Carnival, with its explosion of colour, food and music, an experience not to miss!

Mauritius is a dream destination for honeymooners, with its miles of sandy beaches, deep sea fishing or just for those who like to be pampered against a very beautiful setting.

Head up to the Balaclava ruins for the stunning Balaclava estate and the many tortoises that roam in the area.

Hike or bike through the Labourdonnais Gardens and take in the  delicious aromas of the fruit trees and exotic flowers.

While planning my escape for the holidays, I searched through volumes and volumes of brochures and stopped at the sight of the gorgeous islands of the Maldives.

Clear blue waters, white sandy beaches and sunshine were high on the list, to which the islands satisfied us without end.

My biggest indulgence in St Barth’s was the food.

The quality and quantity of the food was amazing and the general standard wherever you eat. But don’t let the food at the restaurant limit your food experience, there are plenty of delightful markets, grocery stores and local stalls for more opportunities. Not to mention the glorious beaches and an exciting yet discreet nightlife.

I would highly recommend staying in the Club Rooms at La Manga Club, Costa Calida.

If you are lucky enough you may bump into ex Formula One driver Nigel Mansell like I did! As he is a regular guest and golfer at the hotel.

I enjoyed eating at the Amapola Restaurant, here they served the regional favourite; vegetable paella and it was yummy! If you enjoy live music, then spend your post dinner time at the Piano Bar, where there’s a handsome guy singing both Spanish and international songs whilst you relax with a cocktail in this chic setting.

I love Sri Lanka for its diversity.

How many places can you visit in a couple of weeks and take in the culture, wildlife and the beach all in one country? Welcome to Sri Lanka. I would highly recommend taking a private tour, visiting the amazing Dambulla caves and climbing the ancient fort of Sigariya when on a Sri Lanka holiday. A tip for you – it’s definitely worth hiring a local guide at Sigariya to climb with you, to learn all about this amazing rock!

However, the highlight of my trip was a visit to the Elephant orphanage where you will be able to see these stunning animals in their natural environment before watching them at feeding time – an experience not to be missed for any animal lover! After the tour, what better way to unwind on one of Sri Lanka's beautiful sandy beaches before thinking about heading back home.
