The Balé is a resort which suits those travellers who prefer classic simplicity, white stone and the gentle sound of flowing water. If you like your hotel to be colourful with ornate statues and with a beach frontage, then turn away now as the Balé will probably not suit you.
The resort is wonderfully different and romantic, with just 29 spectacular Pavilions and located on a hillside overlooking the Nusa Dua resort area, just 20 minutes from the airport. All of the Pavilions have spacious air conditioned and fan cooled bedrooms with king size beds, a dining area, a huge shaded day bed on the sundeck and an en suite bathroom that opens up to your own private swimming pool measuring 8x4 metres. Three of the Pavilions are even larger, with an additional bedroom. The nine deluxe Pavilions are even more luxurious and spacious, with more living space, larger pools and upgraded facilities.
There is a delightful restaurant serving both Asian and Mediterranean influenced specialties, as well as a good choice of restaurant alternatives in Nusa Dua. There is a shuttle service on demand to the beach club that is a one minute drive or five minute walk. Adjacent to the resort, one can play 18 holes at the Bali Golf and Country Club – one of Asia’s best golf courses.
Children under 16 years are not accepted. The design uses steps and sharp lines as a feature, so possibly not suitable for those with walking problems. It is romantic and particularly recommended for honeymooners or those who are just content and relaxed with each other. The Balé is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World Group and was recently refurbished and is planning upgrades to the spa and bar for the coming year.
Its core is being simple, classic and elegant, yet in a totally minimalist manner, a confident design allowing water to complete the feeling of total tranquillity. The superbly decorated villas, each with its own swimming pool are a definite highlight, blended with amazing service and the spontaneous smiles which will really brighten up your day. The interior of the island is stunning, so please try to tear yourself away from the luxury of your suite, even for a few hours.
Please Note: The hotel are building a new restaurant on the second floor of the lobby. Work will take place during the day until 5pm but there will only be minimal impact on guests as the work is away from the rooms and will be screened from view. Work is expected to be completed by the end of June 2013. (Updated Dec2012)
