Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort
Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort is located amidst 225 square kilometres of the Dubai Desert conservation area. It is just a short 45 minute drive from the airport or the major beach resorts, yet you feel totally detached from all of the commercialised activity.
Built in the style of a Bedouin encampment, each of the 42 suites at Al Maha is designed to reflect a tent, but offers all of the amenities you would associate with a deluxe hotel, including en suite bathroom, mini-bar, TV and DVD player. Every suite also boasts its own private pool and terrace, where you can enjoy fantastic views of the surrounding desert.
Al Maha’s facilities include a highly acclaimed restaurant serving local and international cuisine, as well as dining in the privacy of your own suite or a desert picnic under the stars, at an additional cost. On-site activities include guided desert safaris and walks, falconry, archery, horse riding and camel trekking. Prices are on a full board basis and inclusive of two on-site activities. This brand new (winter 2010) exclusive resort is located on the peninsula of one of the world’s most amazing landscapes, The Palm Jumeira, Dubai and offers guests a secluded enclave in a boutique style low-rise hotel. Reached by private car or private water taxi, One&Only The Palm is an oasis of calm and style in which to rejuvenate the senses.
The stylish guest accommodation is designed with Moorish and Andalusian architecture blended with contemporary chic interiors with classic arabesque detail. During the day we explored some of the historic sites, caught up on some much deserved sun bathing, jewellery shopping and during the evening tucked in to some very indulgent grub at the very accommodating The Palace in the Old Town.
For the more serious shop-a-holic there are a variety of shops to choose from, including Zara, Harvey Nichols, H&M and many luxury brands that you would find at any international city but with one key benefit, they’re all tax free. -

I love the giltz and the glamour of it. The beautiful hotel, great food, funky cocktail bars. The shopping malls are great and you can pick up some real bargains.Read moreFor families there are lots of activities, Kidzania is a must for children. The underwater zoo is good fun and the Snow dome will keep them entertained for hours.
There is a lot more to do in Dubai than people realize, culture shows, desert safaris, water parks and Burj Kalifa. The climate is great for some winter sun.
