Kids Fact

The Sonesta Star Goddess is a first class all suite Nile cruise.

Designed and built in Cairo, this vessel offers 4 Mozart Suites measuring 35sqm in size, 27 extravagant Beethoven Suites all measuring 40msq in size and 2 Chopin Suites 52sqm in size with private lounge and terrace.
Our opinion: a fantastic all suite cruise offering some of the highest standards of accommodation on the Nile. There is a cosy lounge bar, an excellent spacious restaurant and wonderful sun deck.

Please note: unlike many of the cruises offered in Europe, where you have a different destination each night, with sightseeing en route, the arrangements on The Nile generally use the boat as a base for daily sightseeing and do not usually cruise every day. The cruise ships dock side by side, so you may have to walk through another ship to access the Sonesta Star Goddess. Smart/casual attire for evenings, shorts are not permitted at dinner or for the captains welcome cocktail.

For some light entertainment and shopping, head down to the bustling hub of Na'ama Bay, for a great variety of restaurants, souvenir shops and bars offering cocktails and traditional Egyptian shisha. Sharm also has one of the most impressive kids clubs, my fave by far, was the Hyatt Regency’s. The facilities included a canopied paddling pool, indoor play area, outside climbing frame and a play-station room.

While the kids enjoy themselves, the adults can have their own fun at the fabulous Souk area by joining the belly dancers and musicians on stage while dining from a wide selection of freshly made international cuisine.

I thought the Hyatt Regency in Egypt was lovely, it had beautiful grounds, numerous pools and even a waterslide! The luxurious resort also has an area called the 'Club Area' which is more separate to the rest of the hotel, with its own pool and restaurant, making it ideal for a romantic getaway.

There are many highlights to Sharm el Sheikh, the Red Sea for one, is incredibly marine rich and a perfect spot for both snorkelers and professional divers to explore. While snorkelling just a few metres from the shore, I spotted some clown fish, stripy angel fish and virtually the whole cast of Finding Nemo!

There are some amazing experiences to try whilst you are in Egypt, I went diving in to the Blue Hole, which is like an inverted volcano and holds many beautiful and unmissable sites - this is a must do!
