Set amidst tea plantations and scenic hills, this boutique property is the perfect retreat from the daily rush of everyday life an excellent combination as part of a wider Malaysia multi-centre holiday.
The Cameron Highlands' charming colonial feel is evident throughout its architecture and design. Tall French doors, timber-beamed ceilings and plantation shutters add to its period decor and a touch of nostalgia to all their rooms. The well appointed rooms and suites front the Cameron Highlands’ 18-hole golf course and all offer modern comforts and amenities as standard, with the One and Two Bedroom Suites providing a larger living area and commanding views.
The property itself is situated on the largest hill retreat in Malaysia, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, lush greenery, rolling hills and Tudor-styled cottages. At 5000 ft (1,500 metres) above sea level, Cameron Highlands is the highest area on Peninsula Malaysia and enjoys a cool climate, with temperatures no higher than 25°C and rarely falling below 6°C all year round. We would therefore recommend lightweight to medium cotton (or mixed fibre) garments during the day and a jacket for the evenings.
Guests staying at the hotel can enjoy a number of activities such as a refreshing round of golf, an easy jungle trek, or a leisurely walks through the tea plantations and strawberry farms. Cameron Highlands Resort also houses the third wellness centre of the award-winning Spa Village group (otherwise known as the YTL Hotels Group), which offers exotic treatments focusing on the healing and restorative properties of tea sourced from local plantations.
Much of the character of the highlands remains unchanged since colonial times and to this day some continue to refer to it as the ‘little corner of England in Asia’. The cool climate on the picturesque plateau and its surrounding hills and forest make this a popular retreat for golfing, jungle trekking and exploration of the many plantations and gardens in the area.
Dining is a highlight at Cameron Highlands Resort, where traditional English cuisine meets the many tastes of Asia. Guests can enjoy meals at a number of locations, either looking out over the golf course at The Dinning Room, in the Jim Thompson Tea Room or in an open air Gonbei restaurant that merges seamlessly into the surrounding jungle. The Highlands Bar is an excellent venue for relaxing drink, offering an extensive selection of whiskey and cocktails. The hotel also offers a number of Private Dining Experiences where you can enjoy a personally prepared meal at a number of locations around the resort or in the privacy of your own room.

Restaurants and Bars:
From rainforests to mountains and everything in between, Malaysia and its essence lives up to what most of us perceive as ‘True Asia’. Considered to be one of the great cultural melting pots, the nation is host to many cultures outside of its own.
This can best be seen while wandering through the streets where you will pass gold-domed Malay mosques that tower over hindu style bustling markets. Far away from the city centres are untamed pieces of natures that offer rare and exotic species and hints of tropical wildlife.
Although lacking in ancient ruins and deep cultural ties such as neighbouring countries, Malaysia still brings a unique cultural heritage all its own that the people of the country can rejoice and celebrate about.
Becoming more of a strong economic force in the last decade, Malaysia often serves as an important trading port between India and China and this is reflected in various sectors within the country, especially in retail.
Malaysian food is heavily inspired by the Indian palate but also influenced by traditional spices and herbs from neighbouring Thailand. Many dishes are made with or blended in coconut milk and curry and other exotic flavours such as galangal, lime, and lemon grass.
Rice is a staple in traditional Malay meals, often accompanied by fried chicken or fish, vegetable dishes, and small condiments such as shrimp paste. As seafood is popular, fish, prawns, and squid are often bestsellers at most restaurant menus.
The most popular Malay dish is Satay, delicious barbecued skewers of marinated chicken, beef, or mutton that are to be dipped in chilli peanut sauce.
You will also find popular dishes from other Asian countries, particularly Chinese Food and Peranakan cuisine.
You will easily find a variety of beverages no matter where you go including traditional western soft drinks and bottled water, both still and sparkling.
