| Kids Fact |
On the edge of the South China Sea at Pantai Dalit, set in 400 acres of lush, tropical vegetation and rainforest, lies the 5-Star Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort.
This immaculate resort is the perfect place to enjoy the delights of the region with its famed rainforests, wildlife and spectacular beaches.
Well appointed guest rooms, most with great sea views, complement manifold activities in and around the resort including a Kids Club. The Garden Wing offers 330 guest rooms and suites which offer private lanai’s on the ground floor rooms, whilst the upper floor rooms all offer private balconies with stunning views of the lush garden landscapes or sea. All rooms enjoy traditional Malay décor inclusive of richly carved local wooden panels and soft earthy tones. The Ocean Wing includes 90 rooms with spacious floor area up to 90 sq metres. Each room features an oversized bathtub on each balcony.
Enjoyment is ensured with an 18-hole championship golf course, the Spa at Dalit Bay, and a highlight of the resort is the 64-acre Nature Reserve and Nature Interpretation Centre which comes complete with Orang Utans and is the only one of its kind in the region. End the day with dinner at any of the resort’s restaurants, most notably the elegant Coast for its western contemporary cuisine, Naan, the award-winning restaurant famed for delicious North Indian cuisine or the newly opened Kozan, Teppan-yaki. Alternatively dine under the stars to the sound of gently lapping waves at one of the resort’s exclusive outdoor gazebos.
Please note:- The hotel will undergo refurbishment works to the Garden Wing rooms in two phases. The first phase involved 71 of the 330 rooms at the Garden Wing with works having been completed in July 2011. Phase two involves the remaining 259 rooms, the Lobby and the Lobby Lounge, which began on 1 September 2011 and is expected to be completed and of February 2012. Some disturbance is expected in the initial stage of phase two, although, there will be minimal impact to guests staying in the Ocean Wing as this block of accommodation is separate from the Garden Wing. The phasing of the upgrading has been planned to minimize the disturbance to guests. (Updated 12 December 2011).
In addition to the above, we have been advised of local works being undertook at the Marina. These works commenced in September 2011 and are due to continue for a period of 8 to 12 months (subject to ongoing updates or any further changes). Little disruption is expected from this and all services will continue as normal. For any further updates, please contact our sales specialists. (Updated 12 December 2011).

Hotel Map
From rainforests to mountains and everything in between, Malaysia and its essence lives up to what most of us perceive as ‘True Asia’. Considered to be one of the great cultural melting pots, the nation is host to many cultures outside of its own.
This can best be seen while wandering through the streets where you will pass gold-domed Malay mosques that tower over hindu style bustling markets. Far away from the city centres are untamed pieces of natures that offer rare and exotic species and hints of tropical wildlife.
Although lacking in ancient ruins and deep cultural ties such as neighbouring countries, Malaysia still brings a unique cultural heritage all its own that the people of the country can rejoice and celebrate about.
Becoming more of a strong economic force in the last decade, Malaysia often serves as an important trading port between India and China and this is reflected in various sectors within the country, especially in retail.
Malaysian food is heavily inspired by the Indian palate but also influenced by traditional spices and herbs from neighbouring Thailand. Many dishes are made with or blended in coconut milk and curry and other exotic flavours such as galangal, lime, and lemon grass.
Rice is a staple in traditional Malay meals, often accompanied by fried chicken or fish, vegetable dishes, and small condiments such as shrimp paste. As seafood is popular, fish, prawns, and squid are often bestsellers at most restaurant menus.
The most popular Malay dish is Satay, delicious barbecued skewers of marinated chicken, beef, or mutton that are to be dipped in chilli peanut sauce.
You will also find popular dishes from other Asian countries, particularly Chinese Food and Peranakan cuisine.
You will easily find a variety of beverages no matter where you go including traditional western soft drinks and bottled water, both still and sparkling.
