| Kids Fact |
The Andaman in Langkawi is a very good superior first class hotel, with a friendly atmosphere, excellent facilities, comfortable and spacious accommodation, plus a fantastic extensive beach front and good selection of in-house restaurants.
Set in a stunning location, with dense forest on three sides leading down to the spectacular beach of Datai Bay, and the airport and Kuah Town reachable within just 40 minutes. The hotel offers a comprehensive array of dining and beverage options, with guests also able to book their say on an All Inclusive basis (refer to the 'Extras' tab of the hotel page for more information).
The 186 rooms and suites have between 43 and 171 square metres of space. They are located close to the beach with a sea facing aspect, although due to the dense foliage, the sea views are only really possible from those rooms at the far end of the beach (supplements apply). A selection of suites are also available, which allow for diverse requirements of differing views, themes and interiors - details on request.
The hotel provides a lovely selection of dining opportunities and locations and occasionally arranges ‘themed nights’ such as sunset bonfire barbecue dinners. There are a large variety of excursions and tours which can also be taken at the resort such as exploring one of the world’s oldest rainforests with a guide in the morning or evening, bird watching, or travel up to the peak of Gunung Raya in time for sunrise before cycling down Langkawi’s highest peak.
The Andaman Langkawi is a family friendly resort, with all rooms being located close to the beachfront and the availability of a comprehensive kids club as well. Its lush tropical surrounding and comprehensive activities make this property perfectly suited to all travellers seeking a relaxing retreat offering plenty to do in-resort. Given the location of the hotel, further shopping or nightlife opportunities are a short drive from the resort.

Hotel Map
From rainforests to mountains and everything in between, Malaysia and its essence lives up to what most of us perceive as ‘True Asia’. Considered to be one of the great cultural melting pots, the nation is host to many cultures outside of its own.
This can best be seen while wandering through the streets where you will pass gold-domed Malay mosques that tower over hindu style bustling markets. Far away from the city centres are untamed pieces of natures that offer rare and exotic species and hints of tropical wildlife.
Although lacking in ancient ruins and deep cultural ties such as neighbouring countries, Malaysia still brings a unique cultural heritage all its own that the people of the country can rejoice and celebrate about.
Becoming more of a strong economic force in the last decade, Malaysia often serves as an important trading port between India and China and this is reflected in various sectors within the country, especially in retail.
Malaysian food is heavily inspired by the Indian palate but also influenced by traditional spices and herbs from neighbouring Thailand. Many dishes are made with or blended in coconut milk and curry and other exotic flavours such as galangal, lime, and lemon grass.
Rice is a staple in traditional Malay meals, often accompanied by fried chicken or fish, vegetable dishes, and small condiments such as shrimp paste. As seafood is popular, fish, prawns, and squid are often bestsellers at most restaurant menus.
The most popular Malay dish is Satay, delicious barbecued skewers of marinated chicken, beef, or mutton that are to be dipped in chilli peanut sauce.
You will also find popular dishes from other Asian countries, particularly Chinese Food and Peranakan cuisine.
You will easily find a variety of beverages no matter where you go including traditional western soft drinks and bottled water, both still and sparkling.
