Meeru

Meeru Island Resort is the only resort on Meerufenfushi Island on the eastern side of North Male Atoll, just a 55 minute boat transfer from Male International Airport. The resort offers a tropical paradise and excellent value for money, and a range of accommodation in 286 rooms from simple Garden rooms to luxurious Jacuzzi Water Villas and Honeymoon Suites over the lagoon.

Meeru's two main restaurants are located in the centre (for Garden Room, Beach Villas, Jacuzzi Beach Villas and Jacuzzi Water Villas) or northern end of the island (for remaining Jacuzzi Beach Vill, Jacuzzi Water Villa and Water Villa guests) both serving buffet main meals with a range of international and regionally influenced dishes plus live cooking stations for freshly prepared dishes. The weekly Maldivian night is popular, and on Sunday breakfasts sparkling wine is offered to add a touch of extravagance! Seating is arranged in open-air areas on a sand floor and there is also outdoor seating. 

During the day there are plenty of activities on offer; from a wide choice of excursions including big game fishing, submarine sightseeing and snorkelling trips, two swimming pools (one adults only, one with kids section), 1.5 km of white sand beaches, bicycles, tennis courts, badminton, football, volleyball, golf driving range and pitch & putt course and many water sports on offer. There is also a fully equipped fitness centre and Duniye Spa built over the water for body and beaty treatments. A host of daytime and evening entertainments will keep everyone occupied if they want to be, from sports tournaments to crab races, discos to cultural dance displays. This resort has as much as a resort can in the Maldives!

Note: Dress can be very casual. Many guests are barefoot. Bathing suits may be worn for breakfast and lunch as long as women wear a cover-up or sarong and men wear a short sleeve polo shirt (not sleeveless). Shorts and short sleeve polo shirt (not sleeveless) are customary for dinner or you can dress up as you wish.
