Contemporary stylish new Maldives resort plus Muscat chic stopover

Seventy-eight modern Studios are sited on the beachfront or overwater with a minimum living space of 180 sq ms each and 66 of these boasting a private plunge pool.  Seven larger and more private Pavilions on the beach or overwater (or combine both in the Ocean Pavilions) all have private pool.  All feature the latest in entertainment with interactive TV system and iPads in every room plus complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the island.  The most luxurious accommodation is featured in the Beach Residence with three bedrooms with personal Thakuru (butler) and the latest in high-tech comforts.

Niyama has a choice of six dining and drinking venues offer a variety of flavours and settings; from the all -day dining venue with glass wine cellar to Edge Restaurant - accessible only by boat and situated 500m off the island.  A gourmet delicatessen, chic beach bar and Sub Six, the world's first underwater nightclub are all worth seeing and sampling.  Private dining is offered in your Studio or Pavilion or in a range of settings for a special evening by arrangement and each room features your own popcorn machine, cocktail bar and Nespresso machine.

When it comes to leisure and activities, Niyama offers the famous LIME Spa as featured at Huvafen Fushi with 'his' and 'her' beaty salons, QUENCH Juice bar, Yoga and Spa gurus and spa treatments offered 24  hours a day - another first for the Maldives!  For the active there is FLOAT for a range of water sports, PADI diving and fishing, PUMP modern gym, NIYAMA LIVE with DJs for dancing, Art Studio, an extreme games zone with Wii, PS3, Xbox, table tennis and football,  weekly movie nights and there's a Marine Biology Lab with educational centre to top it off!

Note:  The resort opened on 16 March 2012 except for Edge, the overwater restaurant and SubSix, the world's first underwater nightclub/lounge.  Both of these are situated 500m offshore and will only be accessible by boat so should not impact on guests on the island.  Only a limited number of Pavilion category suites will be available from 10-31 May and will be ready by the end of May.  All other facilities are operational. The Chedi Muscat is located on a “private“stretch of beach, just 15 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from Muscat – ideal for sightseeing and alternative restaurants.

Each of the 156 rooms and suites are designed in a bright, rather minimalist style, clean and uncluttered. The Serai Superior Rooms are located in the three storey main building with either mountain or sea facing view. These are a little on the compact side and are probably best used for a shorter stay. We would recommend upgrading to the larger Chedi Deluxe Rooms, which are scattered amongst the one and two storey blocks, pocketed by ornate ponds. 
The Chedi Club Suites are furthest away from the lobby and are reached by a series of garden pathways. They are either in single storey or two storey blocks and Club Suite guests benefit from extra Club facilities.

Resort facilities at The Chedi Muscat include a main restaurant plus a beachfront alternative, both of which offer mouthwatering food, spa, beachfront gym and two swimming pools - one in the tropical gardens with intermittent shading and the other at the beachfront for adults only. The hotel is adult oriented. Children are accepted but limited during peak demand periods.
