Angsana Balaclava

Angsana Balaclava is Mauritius’ newest luxury resort; one of the exclusive few boutique properties on the island. With only 51 suites and a villa, Angsana offers an intimate retreat with luxurious accommodation, most suites having plunge pools.

Arranged in the tropical gardens as a Mauritian village, the suites are arranged in two or three-storey villa-style buildings. Each provides a spacious indoor/outdoor area with plush day beds on the terraces. Beach Front Suites are in two-storey buildings, particularly recommended having mosaic tiled water features, mood lighting, and a stone bathtub for two overlooking an infinity pool and jet pool and are closest to the beach. Garden Suites and Spa Suites are in three-storey buildings, Spa Suites ideal for extra pampering.  There is also one exclusive Imperial Villa sleeping up to eight people in four bedrooms.

In Angsana Balaclava’s central area three swimming pools overlap via waterfalls, leading off an extensive seawater pool with sand ‘beach’, with a lap pool and wading pool below. Angsana Spas are noted for their professional therapists, trained at the Banyan Tree Spa Academy in Thailand, and a range of Asian and Ayurvedic treatments using local botanical and marine ingredients.

Beside the pool and beach is the main restaurant, Oryza, with indoor and al fresco seating and Sylea Bar.  International and locally inspired dishes are featured on Executive Chef Nyoman Suardi Nio’s menus.  There is also the Passion Grill for feet-in-the-sand dining with seafood specialities and a swim-up bar.

Additional facilities include a fitness centre, beauty salon and a conservation team will soon be undertaking activities in which guests can interact to support environmental initiatives in Mauritius such as coral planting and educational snorkelling safaris.
