Luxurious Mauritius Beach with Downtown Dubai Stopover

Reawakening after two  years of beauty sleep for a  complete makeover, Trou aux Biches brings a new level of luxury to the northwest coast of Mauritius. 

Located on one of the best beaches on the island and being just a  10 minute drive from the best shopping and dining options in Mauritius in Grand Baie, this couldn’t be a better spot.  The atmosphere here is one of serenity and tropical elegance and will appeal greatly to couples.

The splendid and stylish accommodation comprises of spacious suites and villas scattered through the tropical gardens.   All of the Beach Front Suites and Villas have their own outdoor showers and private pools and the villas also have their own barbeque areas and valet service.

When it comes to dining you’ll be spoilt for choice with a selection of six restaurants (one of the largest choices in a Mauritian hotel!), including buffet, Internatioanl and Italian a la carte restaurants, and two fine dining venues for adults and children over 12 years old only featuring Thai and Indian cuisines respectively.  The Caravelle Bar, being close to the beach is the perfect place to be for those sunset, pre- or after-dinner cocktails. 

Although Trou Aux Biches is designed with romance and couples in mind, families are welcome and special Family Suites are offered with a separate bedroom for up to three children sharing.  There’s also a Bob Marlin mini-club for children and a ‘Teens Club’ with activities. 

Away from the beach there’s an excellent range of sporting activities, many complimentary (except scuba diving, deep sea fishing, bikes and tennis equipment or tuition).  Trou Aux Biches boasts its own HEAD Tennis Academy with 6 floodlit courts and a good choice of water sports including waterskiing, sailing and windsurfing.  Finally but certainly by no means least, the Spa by Clarins features two hammams, 17 massage cabins (6 for couples), and speciality rooms for balneotherapy and algotherapy treatments.

Each of the spacious 242 rooms and suites at The Palace - The Old Town is furnished along a Middle Eastern theme, with a balcony or terrace offering views over the Old Town or the lake with its spectacular fountains. Club Room, Palace Suite and Royal Suite guests benefit from a 24 hour check-in system.

The outdoor pool and garden area has a resort feel, with views across the lake to the towering Burj Khalifa and plenty of Arabian gazebos in the shade for relaxing. The Palace - The Old Town also offers a choice of restaurants, fitness centre and a gorgeous spa which alongside the treatment suites features Oriental bath houses with Hammam tables and Hydrospa bathtubs.

Dubai Mall is a five minute stroll away and boasts an aquarium and even an Olympic size ice skating arena, as well as plenty of shops. For a more traditional experience enjoy the shops, cafes and restaurants at the Souk Al Bahar next door.  A variety of excursions can be arranged in conjunction with Arabian Ranches Polo Club including: Desert Hacking (horse riding trails in the desert), stable tours and high tea with polo.

Note: Some construction is ongoing in the general Old Town/Burj Khalifa area in line with the development of this area as  a key destination within Dubai.
