The newest luxury address on Mauritius, St Regis opens 01 November 2012 and brings the panache and legacy of the prime St Regis brand to the Indian Ocean. Located in the southwest corner of the island, beneath the UNESCO World Heritage site Le Morne Mountain, under an hour from the airport or Port Louis, the capital.

The St Regis Resort Mauritius has 172 rooms and suites in the Manor House and two storey villa-style blocks set in fragrant tropical gardens facing the sea, whilst the Beachfront Junior Suites, Beachfront St Regis Suites and Grand Suites directly front the beach. Seven extremely spacious Ocean View Suites are in the Manor House. All guests will experience the personalized St Regis Butler service, and decadence is the keyword when it comes to design and decor.  Cool neutral tones, fine linens and colonial themes work together to enhance the unobtrusive sense of relaxation, with oversized furnished terraces, oval baths and 21st century technology and entertainment system.

The St Regis Mauritius promises epicurean delights in its six dining and cocktail venues bringing the flavours of the Indian Ocean to guests through Indian, Asian and Fresh Mauritian dishes, as well as international favourites. There is also an impressive Wine Cellar and a private dining room for personalized service tasting of the Chef's special menus.

By day the order of the day is relaxation, whether actively enjoying one of the many water sports including kite surfing and diving, tennis, the Fitness Club or just laying by the pool or by the blue lagoon beyond the white sand beach. Children are catered for at St Regis' Children's Club with supervised activities (4-12 year olds) and babysitting can be arranged for younger visitors to the club or after hours.

Iridium Spa offers pure pampering in one of seven Manor House Spa Suites or one of 12 treatment rooms with a varied menu of facial, body, massage and beauty treatments, plus a steam room, Jacuzzi, sauna and relaxation terrace with refreshments to enhance the total feeling of relaxation and rejuvenation.

This hotel is luxurious, beautifully designed, and set in the best part of the unspoilt side of the island. I was lucky to get upgraded to an ocean front room, definitely worth paying the extra for this type of room. The staffs have been trained to the highest of standards and the service was amazing, the butler service is brilliant, they can get or do anything for you. The food is amazing and fine dining in all of the restaurants. The beach is beautiful, but be aware it is not sand but coral, this can be quite hard on the feet, I would advise taking a pair of jelly shoes.

During the day, waiters would serve fruit on sticks and frozen drinks when sunbathing on the sun beds, which was a nice touch. The library is well worth a visit at the hotel, this is beautifully designed with a huge range of books. Overall this resort is well worth a visit, I would definitely return. Please note they are still building new villas at the end of the resort, you can hear some noise, but this should not put you off from staying here, they should complete by the end of April 2013.

Beautifully appointed colonial style rooms facing towards the Indian Ocean across the tropical gardens. with 65 sq m of interior space they offer very comfortable living with large bathroom featuring an oval bathtub and separaet shower and double vanities and spa amenities. Rooms feature an LED TV and entertainment centre and complimentary wi-fi internet access, private bar, safe and cordless telephone handsets.

Beachfront St Regis Suite

Beachfron St Regis Grand Suite
Nearly twice the area of a Deluxe Ocean View room, these Grand Suites have features as for Beachfront St Regis Suite but with a much larger living/dining room and guest wc, plus an impressive outdoor living terrace or balcony with a daybed, dining table and chairs, sofa and chairs facing the lagoon.

Manor House Ocean View Suite
These elegant one-bedroom suites take you back in time in their classic colonial design. Situated on the first floor of the main Manor House building they overlook the entire resort from the spacious bedroom/living room open plan area and large terrace with daybed and lounge furniture. The large bathroom has a feature bath, walk-in shower and a spa treatment area for two plus separate vanities, wc and walk in dressing room.
