Arequipa is one delightful city. Started off Plaza des Armas (the main square in the city) and found many well manicured palm trees and other varieties planted in front of a cathedral. The architecture around the city is stunning not to mention the 400 hundred yr monastery and the city’s crown jewel, The Monastery of Catalina, was amazing.

The monastery was also a citadel, still in excellent condition. Little streets, kitchens, pretty little squares and many rooms where the nuns lived in. Soon as the sun set, slowly made my way back to the hostel getting a glimpse of three native women in traditional dress (cholitas) and gorgeous little bowler hats with their adorable children !
