The name Chiva-Som translated from Sanskrit to English means ‘The haven of life’, a statement that will take on a different dimension from the moment you arrive.
Chiva-Som is located about five minutes from the resort of Hua Hin and a three hour drive from Bangkok Airport. The property is an exclusive and award-winning health resort, combining the very best spa facilities and treatments, many of which are unique in their style with traditional Thai hospitality and graciousness. The ambiance is one which aims to deliver gentle relaxation that will nurture a sense of well being and harmony, a balance between mind, spirit and body – and will totally pamper you with state of the art facilities.
In the main building there are 33 ocean facing rooms, all air-conditioned with en suite bathroom with shower and balcony. The 17 single storey Thai pavilions are larger, and are set back in the garden overlooking the lagoon,with traditional Thai design and just a few minutes walk to the pool and beach. In addition there are seven suites, all facing the beach. All rooms have satellite TV, DVD player, ceiling fan, air conditioning and refrigerators.
Resort facilities include 70 treatment rooms, meaning Chiva-Som is the only destination spa/health resort in the world to exceed a ratio of more than 1:1 treatment rooms to guestrooms. The two restaurants serve both Asian and European dishes either inside with air conditioning or a beachside location. The setting is attractive and relaxing.
All clients receive three spa meals daily as well as a daily massage. Clients receive a ‘credit’ towards additional spa treatments (details on request). Children under 16 are not accepted, and the resort is strives to maintain itself as a non smoking and a mobile phone free environment (subject to resort staff monitoring). Please note Chiva-Som is not a hotel, but a highly acclaimed totally dedicated health resort. There is no bar or organised entertainment, which rather pleases the many clients who return year after year.
