set in 25 acres of garden, on the beach at Turtle Bay on the north west coast. As this coast is more sheltered, it’s a particularly good choice in our summer months. Maritim Hotel is an hour from the airport and 15 minutes from the lively resort of Grand Baie with its numerous restaurants and boutiques.
Each of the 215 rooms faces the sea and has a balcony or terrace. Contemporary in design they are furnished in natural colours with wooden furniture. Privilege Rooms are slightly larger than the Premium Rooms. Prestige Rooms are even larger and will comfortably accommodate two adults and two children. There are plenty of interconnecting room options for families and Suites are also available.
Maritim Hotel offers a choice of restaurants including the gourmet Chateau Mon Desir restaurant which is integrated within the Balaclava Ruins, overlooking Turtle Bay (supplement applies to dine here). As it’s set slightly apart from the main hotel, guests have the added pleasure of feeling that they are dining out – an unusual experience in Mauritius. Another unique feature is the Equestrian Centre where for an additional fee, guests can take horse riding lessons. Other facilities include an expansive spa set over 4,500 square metres, 9 hole golf course (green fee included), tennis courts, expansive pool area with children’s pool, kids club, dive school and good choice of water sports.
The Maritim Hotel, was hugely popular before its renovation and we expect it will be so again – early booking recommended.
