HOLIDAY TYPES
Make the most of the 11 days of Easter 2011 with W&O Travel
Date: 27/10/2010
As Easter 2011 falls so close to the May Day bank holiday, savvy travellers can take just four days of annual leave to get 11 days off work in a row. W&O Travel has put together the following ideas on ways to make the most of this extra long break.
Whale shark diving in the Seychelles
W&O Travel Tropical Locations (0845 277 3310; www.WandOtravel.com) is offering nine nights (ten nights away) in an Oceanview Hillside Villa at the Hilton Seychelles Northolme on a b&b basis between 22 April and 2 May 2011 from £2289 per person. This price includes flights with Air Seychelles from London Heathrow, private transfers in resort, two nights free and a 15% early booking offer when booked by 15 December 2010, which totals a saving of £625pp. April is the ideal time to dive with whale sharks in the Seychelles as visibility at this time of year is often over 30 metres and the water temperatures can rise to 29ºC. Whale sharks are common visitors to these waters until the end of April, so it is a great place to go if you’re maxing out your Easter break in 2011. The Shark Research Institute runs a Whale Shark Monitoring Programme in conjunction with some local dive centres whereby clients can assist in ongoing research into the behaviour of these spectacular creatures, swim and snorkel with the giants and participate in photo safaris and tagging exercises. Guests at the Hilton Seychelles can arrange a pick-up by the nearby Dive Centre and for those that are a little less adventurous complimentary snorkelling can be enjoyed in the hotel’s cove. Twice weekly the hotel also offers guided snorkelling trips further a field on a weekly basis.
Enjoy the sunshine in St Lucia
Thanks to the bright sunny days and cool evenings, April is the ideal time to visit the lush Caribbean island of St Lucia. W&O Travel Tropical Locations (0845 277 3310; www.WandOtravel.com) is offering ten nights b&b in a Sunset Junior Suite at Calabash Cove Resort and Spa from just £2339 per person. This price includes a complimentary airport transfer for stays of ten nights or more and return flights with British Airways from London Gatwick, departing on 22 April and returning on 2 May 2011. St Lucia’s newest luxury boutique hotel, Calabash Cove Resort and Spa is tucked away among lush vegetation overlooking a secluded white sandy beach on the north-west coast with views over the Caribbean Sea to the Island of Martinique. Facilities at the resort include an infinity edge swimming pool, spa and fitness centre, and the restaurant is rapidly being recognised as one of the finest on the island.
