I have been a Latin America specialist at W&O Travel since March 2009, however my first footsteps into the wonderful continent of Latin America began as a Tour Manager, leading small groups of clients around Peru and Brazil three years ago. It was this experience which uncovered the beauty of what this continent had to offer and developed the Latino travel bug within.
Since my tour-leading days, I have been lucky enough to explore Costa Rica, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. I also made a second trip back to Peru last year to complete the ‘alternative’ Inca Trek, known as ‘The Lares Trek’ – a spectacular journey, travelling through remote Andean villages, bypassing snow-capped mountains and rolling green hills – experiencing all four seasons in just four days!
Personal highlights of my travelling to date would have to include snorkelling with sea lions and manta rays in the Galapagos Islands, along with biking my way down through the Andes along a hair-raising road, literally on the edge of a cliff face – I will never forget that adrenalin-fuelled day! Top of my wish-list for my next travels out to Latin America are Argentina and Chile.
