About Ricky Coates

I have worked in travel since 1994 selling a wide range of holidays around the world. I joined Western & Oriental in 2007 and specialise in the Far East, Arabia and the Indian Ocean.

In addition to working in the industry, I took a career break and saw some amazing places on my round the world trip - it really did feel like a nine month holiday! Choosing a favourite destinations is tough and I can only narrow it down to three for different reasons.

Fiji has to be on the list. It’s the most remote destination I have been to, with incredible, pristine beaches, and you just have to get out to the smaller islands.

Australia is up there too. It’s such a diverse country and I love visiting Perth in Western Australia – again for the great beaches, but also because it’s such a clean, modern city with great wineries within easy access.

Finally, Cape Town. I think this is my favourite city destination, with its backdrop of Table Mountain and so many attractions on the doorstep.

My travelling days are far from over though and more recent travels to Thailand and Bali have these destinations ranking in my Top 10.

Having seen so many different places I am able to use my experience to help clients create a holiday of a lifetime. Every client is different and each holiday I plan is unique which brings me satisfaction in knowing that I am arranging holidays that will create memories to last forever for my clients.
