Luxury Arabian Gulf Holidays

Arabian countries might all share the same religion and general weather pattern, but that apart, each offers a totally different holiday experience.  So talk to one of the Arabian Gulf specialists from Beaches & Retreats at Western & Oriental to determine which destination suits you.

Dubai

Proudly hedonistic, Dubai is an international playground with iconic hotels. Total contrasts can be found everywhere, from camels on dirt tracks just yards away from Lamborghinis and Ferraris on super-highways. Choose Dubai for a dynamic city holiday with fantastic shopping , restaurant choice and nightlife, combined with stunning beaches just minutes away.

Abu Dhabi

Rivalling Dubai as the commercial powerhouse in the region, but more reserved, in virtually everything. The United Arab Emirate of Abu Dhabi is well planned yet traditional, with excellent shopping and desert drives.

The Emirates Palace is regarded as one of the very best hotels in the region while the new Desert Islands Resort is our selection for a unique experience of sun, sand and safari.

Oman

Completely different., Oman offers just a handful of international hotels and lessin the way of shopping, nightlife or land sporting activity than its neighbours, with the exception of dune driving. The pleasures here are the superb beaches, the easygoing but respectful hospitality, the culture and sense of history.

To choose the destination that’s right for your Arabian holiday, call one of our experienced Arabian Gulf Specialists today.

Muscat, you will find out very quickly resembles very little from its Emirate neighbours. It is an elegant city that has preserved its culture but at the same time is very forward thinking and progressive.

You can take it easy and watch ships pulling into the harbour or do as we did, explore the desert dunes and unspoilt beaches in the Sharqiya region.

I love Dubai. I love the giltz and the glamour of it. The beautiful hotel, great food, funky cocktail bars. The shopping malls are great and you can pick up some real bargains.

For families there are lots of activities, Kidzania is a must for children. The underwater zoo is good fun and the Snow dome will keep them entertained for hours.

There is a lot more to do in Dubai than people realize, culture shows, desert safaris, water parks and Burj Kalifa. The climate is great for some winter sun.

Home to some of the most exclusive hotels and shopping outlets, Dubai continues to grow larger and more adventurous than ever.

During the day we explored some of the historic sites, caught up on some much deserved sun bathing, jewellery shopping and during the evening tucked in to some very indulgent grub at the very accommodating The Palace in the Old Town.

For the more serious shop-a-holic there are a variety of shops to choose from, including Zara, Harvey Nichols, H&M and many luxury brands that you would find at any international city but with one key benefit, they’re all tax free.

Oman is a great mix of Arabic culture, deluxe hotels, great beaches, and strange moon-like landscapes with the odd camel thrown in for good measure! This fantastic country has something for everyone including beautiful romantic luxurious hotels for honeymooners and fantastic kids clubs for families with children of all ages. In addition to the pools and beaches, Oman is very proud of its culture and heritage and the museums, Grand Mosque and souks here are fascinating.

One of my favourites, a real feast for the senses and not to be missed, is a trip out to the desert, perhaps with a stay at a luxury desert camp included. Here you have the opportunity to do some dune bashing, quad-bike riding and camel riding or you can just sit back and enjoy the beauty of Oman's desert landscape.

Abu Dhabi isn’t as overwhelming, size-wise, as its fellow Emirate, Dubai but has its own charming quality.

There’s an excellent variety of luxurious hotels, designer golf courses, huge shopping malls and many small indigenous souqs.

For a dose of culture, visit some of the magnificent domed shaped mosques and then take a short boat ride to nearby islands Saadiyat Island and Yas Island.
