Honeymoons & Romance in Caribbean

From Anguilla to St Lucia, Cuba to the Virgin Islands, Western & Oriental know all about Caribbean holidays and will help you select the perfect island to suit your personality. Formerly known as Tropical Locations, we have the ideal holiday destinations for families, couples or those travelling solo. Caribbean holidays are perfect for island hopping, honeymoons, sport or complete relaxation. There’s also the five-masted Royal Clipper for cruising if you want to see more of this region.

More than stunning beaches

Relaxation, nature and activity - you can find it on our Caribbean holidays. Acclaimed as one of the most beautiful destinations in the world the Caribbean offers more than stunning beaches.  Beautiful sea scapes, mountains, hills and waterfalls to admire – the scenery alone will charm you.

Above and below the sea

The calm waters of the Caribbean are perfect for yachters to sail.  But if your prefer underwater views and want a diving or snorkelling holiday, there’s a wealth of marine life in the warm waters for you to discover.  And if you want a more relaxing holiday, you’ll find natural hot springs to soak in. Plus our collection of luxury Caribbean holidays offers a selection of spa sanctuaries and yoga retreats.

Caribbean hospitality

The Caribbean is a culinary delight for those after a gastronomic feast and our holidays have been chosen for their cuisine, service and local charm – with warm and friendly greetings from the local people.

Western & Oriental's Beaches & Retreats

We’ve carefully selected a range of hotels from All Inclusive Caribbean holidays on popular islands like Antigua, Barbados and St Lucia, to hotels that are surrounded by the beauty of nature like those on Dominica and the Virgin Islands.

Caribbean Honeymoon Experiences

A string of idyllic beautiful beaches, warm turquoise waters and spectacular hospitality make this region the perfect place for a luxury honeymoon. From the vast shores of Barbados to the private villas in Turks & Caicos, each island offers a romantic escape giving you options for where to spend this special time in your life.

The Caribbean is one of the best regions if considering a multi-centre luxury honeymoon.
Start on the island of Saint Lucia. Known widely for the Pitons, its two dramatic peaks, much of the island is mountainous forest, deep valleys, and famous beautiful beaches. After a day or two in one of the luxury resorts in our collection, make your way over to Antigua. With its powder soft sand and reef protected waters, it is a beach-lover’s paradise. Considered to be the sunniest destination in the Caribbean you can spend your days laying in the sun or exploring the island sights such as the historic English harbour. Bask in the last days of your honeymoon on the lavish island of St. Barths. A haven of luxury, this small oasis is known for its sophisticated high-end shops, fine dining, and elegant scenery.

Our Caribbean specialists have years of experience travelling through the islands.  Call them today and they can help you choose your destination and tailor-make your holiday.

Antigua is a beach lovers paradise with a beach for everyday of the year. There are tons of water based activities to participate in. My advice is, if you can tear yourself away from the stunning beaches to head up to the historic Harbour for some local history and great food. And if you are lucky enough to be in Antigua during late April, be sure to catch sailing week, one of the five top regattas in the world and the biggest in the Caribbean!

If nature is your thing then Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago make a great combination with nature trails and river rafting in Grenada, bird watching and scuba diving in Trinidad and Tobago.

St Lucia was my first taste of the Caribbean and I fell in love with the island as soon as I arrived. I spent half of my time in the south of the island and half my time in the north which both offered very different experiences. When in the south I visited coco plantations and the Sulfur springs, watched the sunset with a cocktail at Jalousie Plantation and had an amazing lunch looking over the pitons at Stonefield Estate Villa Resort and Spa .

In the North I visited some beautiful beaches lined with palm trees. Danced the night away with tourists and locals at Jump up street party, zip wired my way through a national park and enjoyed canapés and champagne at Calabash Cove. The south was relaxing and a haven for nature lovers. The north had the best beaches and would be perfect for anyone who wants to rub shoulders with the locals and enjoys and good dance.

Take up the opportunity to sample some of the best scuba diving and bird watching, some of nature’s finest wonders. The islands’ rich diversity in culture, history and nature will keep you blissfully occupied throughout your stay.

Test your stamina at the annual Carnival, with its explosion of colour, food and music, an experience not to miss!

My personal favourite from the Caribbean islands are St Kitts and Nevis for its laid back attitude, boutique plantation hotels, exceptional cuisine and unique volcanic landscapes.

The local people’s friendliness and helpfulness is second to none and thus, making it a perfect escape from the stresses of everyday life.

Saint Lucia is located between the two world-famous Pitons and the perfect romantic escape for couples and Honeymooners. A two-centre holiday is a great way to experience the best the island has to offer. Start with a stay at the beautiful Jalousie Plantation, it's plush and boutique style is so welcoming and stylish. The Luxury Villas are superb, all with their very own plunge pools! You can relax for the week and take in the beautiful surrounding or perhaps take a helicopter ride over the pitons and go exploring in the rainforest surrounding Soufriere. In your second week, stay at the gorgeous Calabash Cove near Rodney Bay. This is a lovely hotel with less than 30 suites, fine dining and a beautiful infinity edge pool perched over the sea, making full use of the hotels stunning beachside setting.

You must visit Rodney Bay to experience the local nightlife (10 mins from Calabash Cove) and many dining options, but make sure you keep Friday night free for Jump Up at Gros Islet, the islands biggest street party every Friday,

My biggest indulgence in St Barth’s was the food. The quality and quantity of the food was amazing and the general standard wherever you eat. But don’t let the food at the restaurant limit your food experience, there are plenty of delightful markets, grocery stores and local stalls for more opportunities. Not to mention the glorious beaches and an exciting yet discreet nightlife.

Cuba is a spectacular country, with beautiful and very warm loving people. Travel here not only requires a passport, money and a good rucksack; it also requires flexibility, creativity, good humour, patience and a healthy sense of adventure. Cuba remains an easy country to travel to and within and since Raúl Castro took office in February 2008, he has allowed Cubans access to cell phones and entry into tourist hotels, meaning interaction with the locals is now simpler and often surprisingly candid.

What is there to love about St. Vincent & the Grenadines? Lots, starting off with the Carnival, get into the rhythm and dance your heart away. Visit the majestic, lush green Mount Soufriere volcano and take advantage of the secluded white sand beaches.

Another exciting must do is take a sailing trip to Tobago Cays, used for the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean, either for a day or extend for an overnight trip.

If nature is your thing then Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago make a great combination with nature trails and river rafting in Grenada, bird watching and scuba diving in Trinidad and Tobago.

  • Rossella Colella

Waterfalls, steaming valleys, lush vegetation and rich marine life are some of the fantastic highlights of visiting Dominica.

Home to the second largest boiling lake, the whole island is one huge natural wonder that welcomes you with warmth.

  • Jackie Fillis

While flicking through the options for my next destination, I knew I wanted relaxation, pampering and luxury. The Riviera Maya was a perfect choice.  The unspoilt nature of this Mexican coast, meant less crowds, noise and a place to completely escape.

I stayed at one of the beach suites at the Rosewood Mayakoba. Equipped with a huge outdoor bathroom and bed but more importantly, when I pulled back the curtains each morning, I got to step out on to the terrace and straight on to the silky soft Caribbean sandy beach. This is my definition of luxury!

  • Rossella Colella

The British Virgin Islands are dramatically beautiful tropical islands, a haven for sailors and water sports enthusiasts that offers some of the most beautiful beaches and spectacular spas in the Caribbean.

  • Tom Cloherty

Taking an All Inclusive holiday is one of the options whilst on holiday. My personal favourite All Inclusive was at the Sunset at the Palms in Jamaica . Our room had the most comfortable bed on the planet. Plenty of good food, drinks and snacks to keep us fully replenished.

The motto of the holiday was : Chill back, relax and enjoy the sunshine. We sure did.

  • Jackie Fillis

The crystal blue waters of Bermuda, pink sandy beaches and romantic sailing trip made me feel I had died and gone to heaven. Only a few hours from the UK, it feels like someone had dragged a Caribbean closer to us for our benefit. The gorgeous City of Hamilton is a great seaside city, with lots of well preserved colonial architecture, plenty of water sports and a lively but tasteful nightlife.

Most bizarre view was the sharply dressed businessman and officers of authority dressed in a shirt, tie and shorts?!

  • Erica Moore

Barbados has plenty of fine dining options and for more variety head up to the booming nightlife resort of St. Lawrence Gap or just ‘The Gap’ as its locally known.

The island, also known as the Platinum Coast, boasts a string of fine sand beaches, is great for some celeb spotting and for the sportsmen, as there are many sporting events throughout the year including horse racing and cricket. A great activity for the family would be swimming with the turtles.
