This is the perfect classic combination for everyone with an interest in wildlife and history and is a wonderful introduction to two of the best known Latin American highlights of Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands. It is possible to add extensions to this trip if you have a little more time and wish to explore either Peru or Ecuador in more detail.

Leaving Peru will bring you to the historic city of Quito and the monument on the line of the Equator before flying out to the spectacular wildlife destination of the Galapagos Islands - made famous by Darwin who studied the different species her to write his Theory of Evolution. Day 1
Fly to Lima
Morning flight from London Heathrow via Madrid to Lima, Peru's capital. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Casa Andina Private Collection Hotel, Miraflores. Stay here for 2 nights.
Day 2
Lima sightseeing
Sightseeing in Lima will include the historic centre and the Larco Herrera Museum. Take a stroll around the city by moonlight.
Day 3
Transfer to the Sacred Valley
Fly to Cuzco. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Sacred Valley. Stay at the Stay at the Sol Y Luna Hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Inca ruins at Ollantaytambo.
Day 4
Free in the Sacred Valley
Free day to relax at your hotel or explore nearby ruins and villages, making an adventure for two.
Day 5
Travel by train to Machu Picchu and tour the ruins
Board the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu with a guided tour of the ruins of this magnificent mountainside citadel, lodging at the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel in Aguas Calientes close by.
Day 6
Return to Cuzco
Free time to explore Machu Picchu by yourself, then travel by train to Cuzco to stay at the Casa Andina Private Collection Hotel. Stay here for 2 nights.
Day 7
Cuzco sightseeing
Take a guided tour of colonial Cuzco and explore nearby ruins such as Sacsayhuaman.
Day 8
Travel from Cuzco to Quito
Fly from Cuzco to Lima and connect with an onward flight to Quito . Stay for 2 nights at the Patio Andaluz in the city's beautifully restored historic centre.
Day 9
Quito sightseeing
Enjoy a half day guided tour of historic Quito and the Equatorial monument close to the city.
Day 10
Fly to the Galapagos Islands
Fly from Quito to the Galapagos Islands to embark your 3 night cruise aboard the M/V Santa Cruz. Visit two sites on San Cristobal Island including Cerro Brujo.
Day 11
Hood Island and Floreana Island
Enjoy daily adventures ashore to encounter wildlife in the islands with your expert naturalist guides. Visit Punta Suarez on Hood Island and Punta Cormorant on Floreana Island.
Day 12
Fernandina Island and Isabela Island
Visit Punta Espinoza on Fernandina Island and Punta Vicente Roca on Isabela Island, the largest island on the archipelago
Day 13
Fly to Guayaquil, then via Madrid to London
Disembark from the Santa Cruz and fly to Guayaquil. In the evening, depart from Guayaquil by overnight flight to Madrid, arriving the following afternoon. Connect with an onward flight to London
Day 14
Land back in the UK
Arrive at Madrid, and continue by air to London Heathrow.
