Luxury Cape Town City Break

Cape Town - one of the most beautiful settings in the world? Yes, definitely!

Given that the time difference is minimal (max 2 hours) and the flights to reach this fabulous destination are overnight, you can really maximise your limited time and make a superb long weekend trip into a really pleasureable holiday.
So much to see and do that you really need a full week in Cape Town but our 3 nights are action packed and all-encompassing.

Day 1
Overnight flight from London Heathrow
With a flying time of 11hrs30 minutes and a time difference of only one hour you arrive in Cape Town without the jetlag associated with long haul flights east or west.
Day 2
Arrival and relaxation in Cape Town
A private chauffer service whisks you away from the airport on the thirty minute journey to the city centre and waterfront. The Cape Grace is a classic five star boutique hotel, set on its own private quay on Cape Town's vibrant Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, with the yacht marina on the one side, the working harbour on the other and Table Mountain as a backdrop. Stay three nights in a luxury room at the Cape Grace Hotel, breakfast included.

An afternoon session of pampering is reserved for you at the Cape Grace Spa, magnificently situated on the top floor with sweeping views of Table Mountain. In the early evening be sure to join the daily Cape Orientation and Wine Tasting, which is an intimate, informative and fun introduction to the history of the Cape and the hotel's facilities.

A table is reserved for dinner at the hotels in-house Signal Restaurant. Led by Executive Chef, Malika van Reenen, Signal Restaurant offers creative Cape cuisine that's fresh and inventive, drawing on influences from the many nationalities and customs that have shaped this region since being settled in 1652; namely Dutch and British settlers, French Huguenots, Asian traders and African cultures.
Day 3
Private City tour and Table Mountain
Breakfast before departing on a private half-day Cape Town City and Table Mountain tour, taking in the Houses of Parliament, the Castle (South Africa's oldest building built between 1666 and 1679) the lively Greenmarket Square with its daily market, the Company Gardens and of course Table Mountain, from where you can enjoy spectacular views over the city and the Peninsula. (the cable car fee is not included as it is weather dependent). As you come back down from the mountain, make a stop at Bo-Kaap, home to the Cape Malay community, with its cobbled streets and brightly coloured houses.

Freshen up for dinner before making use of the complimentary luxury chauffeur transfer service to the Roundhouse Restaurant where a table is reserved for you. Once Lord Charles Somerset's shooting box, the Roundhouse has been tastefully renovated into a du jour eatery. Set on the slopes of Lion's head, diners can take in the Camps Bay vista while making up their minds over what to choose from the modern French menu.
Day 4
Private Cape Peninsula and Constantia Winelands Tour
This morning you depart on a Private Cape Peninsula & Constantia Winelands Tour, setting off slightly earlier to get ahead of the group tours doing this classic route. We have requested the hotel prepare a picnic breakfast hamper for you to enjoy at a scenic spot en route. You travel to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve via Chapman's Peak, one of the world's most breathtaking coastal drives. At Cape Point take the funicular to the top of the Peninsula to witness the symbolic meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans.

Continue to Simonstown to visit the African Penguin breeding colony at Boulders Beach before heading to the Constantia winelands area. A table is reserved for lunch at Buitenverwachting Wine Estate.

This evening visit the Cape Grace Bascule Bar for a slice of Cape Town's social energy. There are over 400 whiskies from around the world behind the long Bascule bar and an impressive selection of the finest Cape wines. Whisky tastings led by an experienced Sommelier are a specialty here and can enlighten the palate to a whole new range of tastes.

A table is reserved for you at Aubergine. Award-winning chef Herald Bresselschmidt conjures up worldly, sophisticated fare at this elegant eatery where elite ingredients such as truffles and foie gras are never far from the menu.
Day 5
Private Winelands Tour
Breakfasts at the Cape Grace are legendary, enjoy yours at leisure before meeting your guide to set off for a half day private Winelands tour. Wind your way to the heart of the Cape Winelands through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads.

The tour starts with historical Stellenbosch, framed by canal-lined avenues and giant oak trees. The first tasting of the day is at the Waterford Estate, one of the most picturesque settings in the Blaauwklippen Valley. Here you enjoy a unique flavour experience, as custom-made chocolates are paired with red and dessert wines.
We consider a stop at the Delaire Graff Winery an essential part of any visit to the Winelands, especially when you can indulge in their delectable lunch accompanied by their signature wines. Under the guidance of chef Christiaan Campbell, the menu focuses on fine cuisine with fresh flavors.

After collecting your luggage and freshening up at Cape Grace you'll be taken to the airport for the flight back to the UK.
